This document provides recommendations for the development of representative test materials consisting of nano-objects in dry powder form, in the objective to ensure the development of test methods and to improve the comparison of data within the framework of nanotechnology applications. These recommendations relate to the physicochemical properties (specifically size and shape, specific surface area, crystal structure and overall chemical composition) to be measured and recorded with the representative test material.
