Eden Innovations (EDE) has received the green tick from the Australian Health Department to import its concrete additive, EdenCrete, into Australia. Parchem Construction Supplies, the Australian and New Zealand distributor of the EdenCrete product range, applied for approval at the end of 2019. The approval process involved both a human health risk assessment and an environmental risk assessment of the carbon nanotubes. Eden says this is a milestone for EdenCrete in the Australian concrete industry.

Eden Innovations (EDE) has received approval to import its concrete additive, EdenCrete, into Australia. The green tick has come from the Australian Health Department, under the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS).

EdenCrete is carbon-strengthened concrete additives that enhance the performance of concrete. Parchem Construction Supplies, the Australian and New Zealand distributor of the EdenCrete product range, applied for the approval at the end of 2019.

The approval process involved both a human health risk assessment and an environmental risk assessment of the carbon nanotubes.

As a result of the assessments, it found that EdenCrete, when used in the recommended procedures, does not pose a risk to workers, public health or the environment.

"This approval opens the way for the importation for sale in Australia of the EdenCrete range of products and represents a major milestone on the path to opening the EdenCrete products to the Australian concrete industry," the company said.
