Nanotechnology Products in Renewable Energy Industrial Sectors

In Jan 2017, Nanotechnology Products Database (NPD) released some detailed information surrounding nanoproducts recorded in the renewable energies industrial sector, as the latest update of the database. At present, NPD demonstrates information and statistical data about nanotechnology products in 13 industrial sectors.

As the newest database of StatNano, NPD displays a number of about 6750 nanotechnology products in various industrial sectors. The renewable energies sector is a new industrial division added to the database besides the existing industrial sectors, namely automotive, construction, cosmetics, electronics, home appliance, medicine, petroleum, sports and fitness, textile, food, agriculture, and environment.

According to NPD, 391 nanotechnology products have been monitored and added to NPD in the renewable energies industrial sector in Jan 2017. The products are produced by 105 companies, the headquarter of which located in 20 different countries. These products are classified into the following industrial subsectors: solar cells, fuel cells, batteries, and wind energies. It is worth mentioning that in addition to general information about products, NPD provides valuable information about properties and applications, nanomaterials used in the products, manufacturers, countries, and certificates obtained by products. The database also displays statistical data in forms of charts on the number of products, companies, countries, and most commonly used nanomaterials in each industrial sector and subsector.
