StatNano Partners with BrasilNano to Develop Nanotechnology Network in South America

StatNano announced that it entered a three-year agreement with BrasilNano, a national association headquartered in Florianópolis, Brazil, specializing in promoting scientific and technological development of nanotechnology in a wide range of national and international areas. The partners are to collaborate closely toward the establishment of a regional network in South America in the areas of nanotechnology and advanced materials; just as Henry Ford once said, "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."

As one of the pioneering science, technology and innovation online statistical platform in nanotechnology, StatNano has been actively monitoring the status of nanotechnology advances and policies worldwide since 2010, gathering the latest information and statistics on nano-based science, technology, and industry (NSTI) to provide the global and regional ranking of the main indicators relating to NSTI. Such is the reliability of StatNano’s databanks that a growing number of institutions and policymakers formulate their national policies, strategic plans, and NSTI priorities based on the data they extract from this website.

Apart from StatNano’s focus on the preparation of comprehensive nanotechnology and nanoscience databanks, it also attempts to establish cooperative ties with partners from all around the world with the aim of enabling the whole world to benefit from nanotechnology advances.

Recently, StatNano signed a three-year joint development agreement with BrasilNano, which is a Brazil-based company focusing on promoting scientific and technological development of nanotechnology in the economic, environmental, teaching, research, legal, and social areas at both the national and international levels.

Under their agreement, the two parties are to jointly design and launch a regional network in South America in the areas of nanotechnology and advanced materials, together with developing a comprehensive platform of information, knowledge, and services in those areas.

Furthermore, StatNano and BrasilNano will regularly produce and exchange publications and information on the latest nanotechnology policies, research trends, products, industry, innovation, and successful business practices, and will also participate in trade promotion activities, including the arrangement of international exhibitions, seminars, and conferences, along with planning various business programs in Brazil to expand the application of nanotechnology in the country.

The two parties will serve as primary contacts for disseminating nanotechnology information by offering possible support services to visiting delegations as well as providing business-to-business matchmaking services.

Last but not least, BrasilNano will develop and expand its own network based on StatNano’s long experience, and will also provide its members with easy access to StatNano’s databanks and content.
