Top Countries in Nanotechnology Publications: H-index vs Number of Nano-articles in Q1 Journals (2021)

The status of the top 40 countries in the number of articles published in Q1 journals in 2021 and the h-index value of their nano-articles in the same year are shown in this infographic.

Statistical studies have confirmed that there is a meaningful relationship between the number of nano-articles published in Q1 journals and h-index value of the country’s WoS indexed nano-articles. Nearly half of the world's nano-articles are published in Q1 journals annually, and given the impact factor and high number of citations to these journals, it can be expected that these journals have a high share in the number of references to the articles published in them as well as an improved h-index for the corresponding nano-article publishing countries.

According to the chart, China and the United States rank first and second in both indicators. South Korea, India, and Germany are in the next places in terms of the number of nano-articles published in Q1 journals. However, in terms of h-index, Iran and Saudi Arabia are ranked third and fourth, after China and the United States, while Australia occupies the next spot on the list.
