Black Swan Graphene Inc Eyeing Larger Production Scale of Graphene Products in New Scoping Study

"This marks an important step for Black Swan as we transition toward a much larger production scale of our graphene products and look to service volume driven sectors, notably the concrete and polymer industries,” COO Michael Edwards said

Black Swan Graphene Inc announced it has launched a scoping study in partnership with engineering firm Halyard Inc.

The large-scale production engineering study will provide an initial evaluation of the project, including processing plant specifications as well as mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical designs, Black Swan said in a statement.

The facility will be based in the province of Quebec.

"This marks an important step for Black Swan as we transition toward a much larger production scale of our graphene products and look to service volume driven sectors, notably the concrete and polymer industries,” COO Michael Edwards said.

In addition to designs, the study will estimate capital and operating cost for the facility.

Black Swan told investors that it plans to leverage the province's low-cost renewable hydroelectricity as well as the emergence of a world-class graphite industry as a raw material source.

The company noted that Halyard is a carbon neutral engineering firm typically serving the mineral processing, material handling, infrastructure, and water treatment industries that delivers “innovative and sustainable” engineering designs.

Black Swan is focused on the large-scale production and commercialization of patented high-performance and low-cost graphene products aimed at several industrial sectors, including concrete, polymers, lithium-ion batteries, and others, which are expected to require large volumes of graphene.
