Graphene Manufacturing Group Provides Business Update on THERMAL-XR Commercialization Progress
Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd has provided a commercialization update on its THERMAL-XR Powered by GMG Graphene technology, highlighting ongoing customer engagements, testing, and industry recognition.
At a recent event in Brisbane, GMG re-launched its product, now branded as THERMAL-XR ENHANCE, which boasts improved heat transfer and corrosion protection capabilities.
In a statement, GMG said that the rebranding from THERMAL-XR RESTORE reflects the product's expanded applications, including enhancing heat transfer in new HVAC equipment, a capability confirmed through third-party verification.
The company has conducted on-site testing with global air conditioning manufacturers in China and the US for potential integration into production lines.
Initial results are promising, GMG said in a statement, though the company anticipates further testing before market introduction.
THERMAL-XR ENHANCE has also gained attention in other sectors where heat reduction is critical. Testing is underway with companies in LNG, electronics, and motor manufacturing for industrial and automotive applications.
The product will now be available in smaller, five-litre pails, responding to customer demand for easier handling in field applications.
GMG said it is working with Nu Calgon to submit a Pre-Manufacture Notice (PMN) to the US Environmental Protection Agency, with the submission expected by the end of October. Unlike the previous application, this PMN will not be limited by volume or sector, potentially opening the door to wider usage.
THERMAL-XR has also been shortlisted for the prestigious Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Heating (AIRAH) Product of the Year Award, which will be announced in November.
GMG's leadership remains optimistic. "We believe GMG continues to make good progress in testing its products in large global OEM's for various types of products in various applications whilst our technical understanding of the coating improves - creating an exciting cycle of innovation and learning with our customers and how we make the graphene and coating, how it is applied and also how it is marketed and sold,” CEO Craig Nicol said in a statement.
As part of the company's transition to commercial operations, GMG announced that it will outsource major project activities, and Chief Projects Officer Bobby Bran will be stepping down after six years of service.
