Which Nanomaterials/Morphologies Have Had the Highest Number of Patents and Publications in 2021?

Nanocomposite, graphene, and nanotubes are the nanomaterials with the largest number of publications in 2021. From the point of view of the number of patents, graphene and nanotubes are at the top, but the third place is reserved for quantum dots with 725 granted patents in the USPTO in 2021. On the other hand, nanomaterials such as nanofluids, maxene, and carbon dots have a small number of patents in spite of relatively high publications, indicating the long distance of these nanomaterials from commercialization.
