Statnano Releases Comparison Index of Number of Nanotechnology Patents in Different Countries

The Statnano Database website provided the readers with a comparison index of the global ranking of various states in the field of nanotechnology based on the number of patents published in any country between 2009 and 2011

The Statnano Database website (www.statnano.com) provided the readers with a comparison index of the global ranking of various states in the field of nanotechnology based on the number of patents published in any country between 2009 and 2011.

Statnano Database has been designed by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) in a bid to continually monitor the status of various countries in all indices of nanotechnology in the chain of science to market.

The main responsibility of the website is to continually monitor and announce the status of indices for the development of science, technology and innovation in nanotechnology in various countries, determine the international and regional rank of the countries in those indices, analyze nanotechnology development in various countries, and provide information about the policy-making status of countries in nanoscience, nanotechnology and nano-innovation.

Among the characteristics of the website, mention can be made of the display of the countries’ status according to the indices in a special page for each country. The visitors of the website can visit the statistics of their own country at first, and then they can monitor the statistics of other countries in the field of nanotechnology.

In addition to announcing the international rank of the countries, the website provides the visitors with the following information for each of scientific, technological and innovational indices in nanotechnology:

• Presentation of nanotechnology development indices in the six fields of investment, human resources, science production, technology production and industry and market;

• Values of the most important indices, rank of each country in the indices, and the chart of the changes in indices in the last five years;

• Values of the indices in different years for various countries with the ability to rate the countries at international, regional and international organization levels;

• Ability to display statistical data of the indices in the form of charts.
