The first International Nanotechnology Olympiad for Students (INO-HS) has concluded with the announcement of results following a global virtual competition hosted by Iran.
The event brought together participants from 20 countries across five continents, aiming to strengthen scientific knowledge and inspire technological creativity among young minds worldwide. The main exam took place online on September 28, 2025.
Each participant completed a written test that accounted for 70% of the total score, followed by a practical innovation challenge contributing the remaining 30%. In this stage, students developed a business model applying nanotechnology to solve a real-world environmental problem and submitted it as a short video.
An international panel of judges assessed these proposals on parameters such as creativity, feasibility, and impact. This inaugural edition, held entirely online, was designed to promote international collaboration among youth and encourage creative, solution-oriented approaches to global challenges through nanotechnology.
