Top 20 Countries by USPTO Nanotechnology Patents in 2022

Nearly 50 percent of the nanotechnology patents granted in USPTO belong to the USA. The next four countries in this ranking are Asian countries including China, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. China took the second place of the number of USPTO nanotechnology patents, surpassing South Korea and Japan. When evaluating the local share of nano patents out of all USPTO patents, Saudi Arabia ranks first with 16.7%, followed by Spain and Taiwan.
