Directa Plus’ Graphene’s Bacteriostatic Properties Can Help Control Coronavirus

Directa Plus has highlighted that its graphene material could be used in the production of medical devices to ensure better prevention properties for the Covid-19 pandemic.

Directa Plus PLC has pointed out that its Italian operations are exempt from the restrictions recently imposed by the Italian government.

The producer and supplier of graphene nanoplatelets-based products for use in consumer and industrial markets is classified as a chemical company in Italy and so is in a protected industry deemed to be providing essential goods and services.

The company continues to actively support the Italian authorities, at both local and national level, in their struggle to combat the coronavirus (COCID-19) emergency by making available its technologies.

Directa Plus's graphene is non-toxic and its bacteriostatic properties could be used in the production of medical devices such as masks, gloves and gowns to ensure better prevention properties for the spread of the virus.

"Medical equipment enhanced by graphene could mean a safer working environment for the health workers and all citizens. In the health industry graphene is well known for antibacterial and filtering properties and we will continue to develop protective devices using our non-toxic G+ graphene to benefit our fellow citizens during this emergency,” Directa Plus’s chief executive officer, Giulio Cesareo said in a statement.
