Researchers at IMDEA Nanociencia investigate how molecular shuttles work by observing individual transition paths. Hopping back and forth between the two shuttle stations takes the same time on average, proving microscopic reversibility. The study provides a first experimental look at the principle of microscopic reversibility in molecular devices.
