The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory is to invest in a technique devised by researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), whereby they are able to produce extremely efficient yet highly expensive III-V solar cells with a lower cost so as to bring spacefaring solar technology down to Earth.
