9th International Conference on the Environmental Effects of Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials

Start Date Sep 7, 2014
End Date Sep 11, 2014

DESCRIPTION

The CENR is organizing the 9th International Conference on the Environmental Effects of Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials, which will be held from September 7th –11th, 2014 in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. As one of the globally leading conferences on nanoscience/nanoecotoxicology, the 9th ICEENN will bring together researchers, regulators and industry to discuss the potential hazards and risks of current and future applications in the key sector of nanotechnology, along with mechanisms to bring about risk reduction while maintaining the economic and social benefits of the sector. Sessions will consist of key research areas including but not limited to 1) physical and chemical properties of nanoparticles as related to the environment and health, 2) ageing and effects on fate and behavior, 3) toxicology and ecotoxicology, 4) social and regulatory sciences, 5) innovation and applications of nanotechnology to environmental and health issues. The conference will be held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center with excellent facilities and based in the center of Columbia with immediate access to the Congaree Vista, a vibrant area full of restaurants, hotels, museums, shopping, and outdoor pursuits only minutes away (Cayce Riverwalk Park, Congaree National Park, and Harbison State Forest. The topics: 1) physical and chemical properties of nanoparticles as related to the environment and health, 2) fate, behavior and transformations, 3) toxicology and ecotoxicology, 4) social and regulatory sciences, 5) innovation and applications of nanotechnology to environmental and health issues
