Nanotechnologies. Nanomaterials. Risk management. Part 1. General principles

This standard establishes the fundamental principles of risk management for the manufacture, use, and disposal of engineering nanomaterials and provides guidance on the development, implementation, and analysis of an organization's risk management. This standard applies to engineering nanomaterials consisting of nano-objects (nanoparticles, nanofibers, nanotubes, and nanowires) and aggregates and agglomerates of these nano-objects, including those larger than 100 nm. In this standard, NOAA includes primary nanomaterials and nanomaterials incorporated into other materials from which they may be released during their life cycle, such as during processing and disposal.
