ABSTRACT

This standard specifies the procedures and precautions to follow when performing reproducible measurements of the quantum efficiency of luminescent nanomaterials. Nanomaterials such as quantum dots, nanophosphors, nanoparticles, nanofibers, nanocrystals, nanoplatelets or structures containing these materials can all be handled by this method. Nanomaterials can be dispersed in a liquid state (e.g., colloidal dispersion of quantum dots) or solid state (e.g., nanofibers containing luminescent nanoparticles). This standard covers both relative measurements of liquid-state luminescent nanomaterials and absolute measurements of solid-state and liquid-state nanomaterials.
