ABSTRACT
This standard specifies the basic characteristics to be measured to determine the size, chemical composition, and surface area of processed nanoparticle samples in powder form. It also specifies measurement methods for determining each characteristic. The purpose of this standard is to facilitate communication among consumers, regulators, and industry regarding required characteristics. It excludes characteristics related to specific industrial applications of powdered nanoparticles, specific measurement protocols, and health, safety, and environmental issues.
