Anisotropic plasmon engineering unlocks multilevel polarised upconversion

Researchers have introduced an upconversion plasmonphore platform to enable precise control over the polarisation of isotropic upconversion nanoparticles. This is achieved by coupling upconversion activators with carefully designed anisotropic gap plasmon mode-supported metasurfaces.
