Oxidation-induced super-elasticity in metallic glass nanotubes

Oxidation can degrade the properties and functionality of metals. However, severely oxidized metallic glass nanotubes can attain an ultrahigh recoverable elastic strain, outperforming most conventional super-elastic metals.
