DESCRIPTION
Nanotronics and New York Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul have announced a high-tech manufacturing center at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The facility will be located in the historic Building 20, a 150-year-old former shipbuilding factory, and will bring manufacturing and research and development under the same roof, with an $11 million redesign by Rogers Partners Architects + Urban Designers. The new layout promises to provide a smaller factory footprint by allowing for closer collaboration between researchers, computer scientists, chemists, physicists, and machinists.
