DESCRIPTION

A new study by the UAB, the CIBER-BBN, and the Hospital de Sant Pau describes the development of a new biomaterial with sustained drug release. The results were recently published in Advanced Science and describe the creation of artificial inclusion bodies for uses in precision biotechnology and nanomedicine. The structures contain functional proteins released similarly to how human hormones are released by the endocrine system.
