DESCRIPTION
Bubbles are proving increasingly useful in medical ultrasound, both for diagnosis and therapy. But they fizzle out soon after being injected into the body. Researchers have now engineered nanobubbles with customizable shells that are so tiny and durable that they can reach and penetrate some of the most inaccessible areas of the body. The new formulations have exciting implications for improved medical imaging, disease detection, targeted drug delivery, and other fields in material science.
