DESCRIPTION

Nanograined metals possess high strength and high ductility, but low thermal stability. Enhancing the thermal stability will greatly broaden applications of nanograined metals and alloys. A novel criterion of thermal stability is developed, indicating that stresses play an important role in thermal stability of nanograined alloys.
