A team at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has developed what it calls a “complete platform” for an optical quantum computer. The platform is universal and scalable, the team said, and takes place at room temperature. The technology is compatible with standard fiber optic networks. The demonstration of a so-called universal gate set — and the implementation of several operations by means thereof — is what the team said constitutes an optical quantum computing advancement.
