DESCRIPTION
Using a pioneering experimental approach of mechanical manipulation under fluorescence, researchers from Tokyo Tech unveil the elusive origin of the observed green emission band in single polyfluorene chain. Based on simultaneous atomic force microscopy and fluorescent spectra measurements, the observed green emission was attributed to the aggregation and coupling of segments of the chains, a mechanism with advanced molecular photophysics applications.
