The Soft Materials & Matter Transport Research Group, led by Dr. Martin Thuo, the professor of Iowa State University, has recently succeeded in developing a special type of liquid metal that, when heated, its surface thickens and stiffens, thus behaving more like a solid, just like a chameleon changing its color in response to different environmental stimuli.
