Paper, board, pulp and cellulosic nanomaterials - Determination of dry matter content by oven drying - Part 2: suspensions of cellulosic nanomaterials

This document specifies an oven-drying method for the determination of the dry matter content in suspensions of cellulosic nanomaterials. The method is applicable to suspensions of cellulosic nanomaterials not containing appreciable quantities of matter other than water, volatile at a temperature of 105°C ± 2°C. It is used, for example, in the case of samples of cellulosic nanomaterial suspensions taken with a view to chemical analyzes and physical tests carried out in the laboratory when it is necessary to proceed to the simultaneous determination of the dry matter content.

NOTE This document determines the total dry matter content of a sample, including any dissolved solids. To obtain the content of cellulosic materials without dissolved solids, the latter are removed before measuring the dry matter content, for example by washing or dialysis, taking care to preserve all the cellulosic materials.
