This document lists the fundamental characteristics commonly determined for nanoparticles in powder form. It specifies specific measurement methods for each of these characteristics. It does not specify acceptable quantitative criteria for characteristics, as they are subject to agreement between sellers, buyers and regulators. Characteristics relating specifically to health, safety and environmental issues, as well as characteristics relating to specific applications of nanoparticles in powder form, are excluded from this document.
