This document aims to provide the necessary definitions specifying the limits of key innovation indicators when they relate to nanotechnologies, in order to facilitate and unify the global assessment of activities relating to nanotechnologies in different sectors. The availability of these terms can facilitate the measurement and comparison of various indicators in this area. It is not intended to redefine terms that are already defined in other ISO documents. Furthermore, it is not intended to show how the indicators can be used as an evaluation tool.
