The standard specifies a test for the detecting and quantification of endotoxins which may contaminate aqueous nanomaterial samples for in vitro biological test systems using a limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) test. The standard is intended for use by manufacturers of nano objects, testing authorities and independent testing laboratories. This standard deals in particular with aspects of health protection, occupational safety and product safety.
