This standard establishes the procedure for making risk management decisions (hereinafter referred to as RMD) related to the impact of nanomaterials on the human body during work activities (at the workplace), including in the absence of data on the toxicity of the nanomaterial and a quantitative assessment of exposure to the nanomaterial. This standard applies to technical nanomaterials consisting of nano-objects (nanoparticles, nanofibers, nanotubes and nanowires), aggregates and agglomerates of these nano-objects, including those larger than 100 nm (hereinafter referred to as NOAA). In this standard, NOAA include primary nanomaterials, nanomaterials included in other materials from which they may be released during their life cycle, and incidental NOAA released into the work area during technological processes (operations) and posing a hazard to human health.
