This standard applies to the technical requirements and test methods for nanocoatings of cutting tools (products) based on diamond and cubic boron nitride. Tools with nanocoatings are intended:

- based on diamond - for machining non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials;

- based on cubic boron nitride - for machining steels and cast irons
