ABSTRACT

This International Standard establishes a systematic approach to the assessment of potential occupational hazards associated with nanoobjects, their agglomerates and aggregates (NOAA) arising from the production and use of nanomaterials and/or nanotechnology products. The proposed approach provides a definition of exposure pathways, exposed body parts and potential consequences. This International Standard deals with the professional use of NOAA-containing products, for example by cosmetologists using personal care products, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals, but does not deal with intentional or prescribed exposure of consumers to these products. This International Standard is intended for occupational health professionals, researchers and other occupational safety professionals,
