This standard applies to silver nanoparticles (SNPs) in the form of a powder (nanopowder) or suspension (nanosuspension) intended for use as antibacterial agents, and establishes a list of SNP characteristics with an indication of the appropriate measurement methods for their determination. This standard establishes a list of characteristics of antibacterial SNP, the values of which must be provided by the manufacturer upon delivery to the consumer and taken into account in the manufacture of the final product. This standard does not establish the values of the characteristics of antibacterial SNPs and safety requirements, does not consider the impact of SNPs on the environment and human health during their manufacture and use.
