The method determines thermal transport properties, which can be affected by defects, impurities and the thermal interface resistance between the CNTs and substrate. There are many standards (JIS, ISO, ASTM) for measuring thermal diffusivity by flash method however these are for ceramics and plastics, none of which are suitable for CNTs. Examples of flash measurements for VACNTs were illustrated.
