Paints and varnishes -- Vocabulary

This document defines terms used in the field of paint products (paints, varnishes and raw materials for paints and varnishes).
Terms related to special uses and properties are given in the standards relating to these uses and properties, including corrosion protection (see ISO 12944 multi-part standard), powder coatings (see ISO 8130-14), electrodeposited coatings (see ISO 22553-1) and rheology (see ISO 3219-1).
Terms relating to nanotechnology are harmonized with the multi-part standard ISO 80004.
Terms relating to pigments and fillers are harmonized with ISO 18451-1.
