ABSTRACT

Established by adopting ISO/TR 23463:2022(E) Nanotechnologies - Characterization of carbon nanotube and carbon nanofibre aerosols to be used in inhalation toxicity tests, using identical reprinting from the English version of ISO. - Reviewed the characterization of CNT and CNF aerosols for inhalation exposure studies. This standard provides useful information on appropriate characterization of CNT and CNF aerosols necessary for assessing and understanding the toxicity of inhalation from CNT and CNF aerosols. This standard does not provide guidelines for characterization of other carbon nanomaterial aerosols or guidelines for characterization of carbon nanotube and carbon nanofibre aerosols in the workplace or in the ambient air.
