Established by adopting ISO/TS 23690:2023(E) Nanotechnologies - Multiwall carbon nanotubes - Determination of carbon impurity content by thermogravimetric analysis using identical reprinting, primarily based on the English version of ISO. - Provides a mild oxidation method for quantifying carbon impurities (amounts of non-CNT carbon material, including small amounts of amorphous and other structural carbon) that are less stable than multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) under a carbon dioxide atmosphere. - Applicable to the identification of carbon impurity content in MWCNT samples prepared by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Measurements of carbon impurities in MWCNT samples prepared by other methods can be referenced to this standard. This method is not applicable to MWCNT samples with functional group addition or MWCNT samples with encapsulation. Note: This method is applicable to MWCNTs with a single-step TG curve.
