Abstract: Nanometrics Incorporated (Nasdaq: NANO), a leading provider of advanced process control systems, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of 4D Technology Corporation. 4D Technology's Dynamic Interferometry' solutions are used in a variety of industries to provide accurate shape and surface measurement data, which provides feedback to customers of optical quality, machine finish, and surface defectivity, to improve manufacturing yield and performance. The previously-announced acquisition agreement of October 29th was closed on November 15th, with Nanometrics acquiring all outstanding shares of 4D Technology Corporation.

The 4D Technology operation will continue in Tucson, Arizona, and the products will continue to be sold with the 4D Technology brand. The products, incorporating 4D Technology's Dynamic Interferometry solutions, have been established as reference tools for critical applications for surface shape and finish in demanding applications. 4D's customers will continue to recognize the 4D Technology products as part of a broader Nanometrics portfolio.
