ABSTRACT
This part of the IEC 60404 series of standards specifies methods for measuring the magnetic alternating field properties of soft magnetic materials, with the exception of electrical steels and soft ferrite, at frequencies in the range 20 Hz to 100 kHz. The materials covered in this part of the IEC 60404 series include those special alloys listed in IEC 60404-8-6, amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials, pressed and sintered and metallic injection-molded parts as listed in IEC 60404-8-9 as well as castings and soft magnetic composites.
