This standard is part of the ISO/TS 80004 series of standards and establishes terms and definitions for concepts in the field of nanotechnology related to nanostructured materials. This standard does not apply to materials with topographic or compositional properties in the nanoscale, as this is not sufficient to classify a material as nanostructured. This standard is intended to ensure a common understanding between organizations and individuals working in the field of nanotechnology.
