Paints and varnishes. Terms and definitions

This International Standard defines terms related to coating materials (paints and varnishes and raw materials for paints and varnishes). Terms related to specific applications and properties are addressed in standards for those applications and properties, e.g., anti-corrosion, powder coatings. The terms related to nanotechnology have been harmonized with the technical specification ISO / TS 80004‑4. In addition to the English and French terms (two of the three official languages ​​of ISO), this International Standard specifies the corresponding German terms, which are published under the responsibility of the German Member Organization (DIN). However, only terms and definitions given in the official languages ​​can be considered as official ISO terms and definitions. NOTE.
